CORTLAND is the spa’s handyman/jack-of-all-trades. He is a part-time underwear model, but his life’s goal is to work in a spa. He is definitely the “eye candy” of the spa, always wearing shirts that show off his body. Cortland means well and wants to help in every situation, but often gets caught up in the thick of things.

Running a successful spa requires much more than giving customers simple massages and facials. It’s like putting on a daily Broadway show. The staff’s ultimate goal is to pamper and relax the client so they may experience an escape from reality for a moment of time. Every client is different, and so each one has unique needs and challenging requirements.

“Rubdown” takes us behind the scenes of the spa business with stories inspired by real life situations. The series also focuses on the staff’s daily trials with one another and the eccentric group of clients that come in for an escape, from music industry celebrities to simple Tennessee rednecks. Behind a seemingly calm façade hides a chaos of hilarity done in grand southern style.
